HETIAN JADE
Hetian Jade (nephrite) is a kind of single mineral rock composed of microcrystalline aggregate, containing few impurity minerals, mainly composed of tremolite.
Hetian Jade is often almost 99% pure tremolite and when it comes to nephrite, the more tremolite it contains, the more valuable it becomes.
Jade refers to an ornamental mineral, mostly known for its green varieties in many shades from almost white to dark apple green. It can refer too either of two different minerals:
Nephrite: a silicate of calcium and magnesium
Jadeite: a silicate of sodium and aluminium.
Hetian Jade has the meaning and properties to prevent emotions from being disturbed. It is a healing stone that holds the power to keep calm. Hetian Jade is classified as a gemstone called “Nephrite”. It is a special nephrite sourced in Hotan of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China.
The exquisite material mined from Xinjiang has been prized for thousands of years for its greasy lustre. The name ‘Hetian Jade’ was assigned after the transliteration of the small oasis town of Hotan or Hetian, which is in Southwestern Xinjiang. Since it is also named Hotan, Hetian Jade may sometimes be referred to as Hotan Jade.
